Even if internet users utilize Google’s phonebook feature by typing in the phone number of the deceased person they are looking for, they will still get limited results. Google cannot detect unlisted phone numbers or cellphone numbers, which would be a problem for deceased persons who do not have a landline or who only have a mobile number.

Google email search is not that effective, either, because it tends to show results from social networking sites, encouraging searchers to join or open an account, if they don’t have one yet. It also lists down websites that have email services, inviting searchers to open an email account with them.

There are people who try searching by inputting more specific details about the deceased person, but Google still can’t find the right match. If a user needed to search for his ascendants who died about a century ago, Google will not be able to find any relevant results about them. It will most likely list down living people who have the same name, but are not related in any way to the persons he is looking for.

It seems that, no matter how efficient Google is as a search engine and no matter how specific the users make their search words, Google cannot find the right people right away. Or, if it does, the correct results will land in either the 1000th page or the supplementary results page. The same applies even if a user inputs all the details of the deceased person he is looking for. He could input the full name, middle name included, and the complete address, as well as the phone number and email add, and he still wouldn’t get the results that he wanted.
